Company Description

“METAL” was founded in May 1951 under the name “Spółdzielnia Inwalidów w Bytowie”. The purpose of its activity was the professional and social activation of the disabled, which constituted a large percentage of the population in the post-war years. At the beginning of its existence, the Cooperative employed a dozen or so members and dozens of candidates for membership. In the initial phase of operation, several service points were opened: shoemaker, tailor, hairdresser, and lingerie. In the following years, the scope of services was expanded, among others for: carpentry, brush, well, metal, wood-painting, glass.
In 1956, the Cooperative changed its name to “Wielobranżowa Spółdzielnia Inwalidów w Bytowie” and registers its first trademark.
During this period, the company has a wide range of clothing items such as towels, children’s and baby underwear, clothing, jackets, trousers, overalls, coats and footwear. There are also brush and metal products, such as baking sheets and bathtubs.
