Company Description

Amber Pasta UAB is the largest and most modern pasta producer in Lithuania, and one of the largest in the Baltic States. Together with Malsena Plius UAB, Rigas Dzirnavnieks AS and Balti Veski AS Amber Pasta UAB belongs to Baltic Mill, one of the largest grain processing groups of companies in the Baltics.

AP pastatasThe company began its operations in 1996 in Babtai, Kaunas District, by registering joint-stock company Gintarinis Amžius.

In 2004, Malsena AB, one of the largest and most advanced grain processing companies in Lithuania, purchased 50 % of the company’s shares. The production division of the company was moved from the Kaunas District to Panevėžys. In November 2005, Gintarinis Amžius was renamed Amber Pasta UAB.

In Panevėžys pasta was produced with state-of-the-art Swedish Bühler equipment for short-cut pasta, with the help of which the company’s capacity increased five-fold. In April 2006 a new modern Bühler spaghetti production line was introduced – the first and only spaghetti production line in the Baltic States.

Today the company has nearly 100 employees. The company’s qualified employees have extensive work experience and the latest knowledge of management and technologies.

Since 2010 the company has been certified in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 22000.

Amber Pasta UAB is a social enterprise, where more than 50 % of employees have disabilities. The company aims to lessen social exclusion and develop the professional and social skills of those with limited employability. It wants to ensure that the needs of the company’s employees are properly met by adapting work places and providing all the conditions for work within their potential capacity.

The company sponsors social projects oriented towards helping children suffering from oncological diseases, as well as support for the poor and elderly.
