President of Latvia Egils Levits has noted that: “From the point of view of politics, people and values, social entrepreneurship definitely has to be supported.”

On March 6, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with Madara Ulande, Head of the Latvian Social Business Association (LSUA) and Maris Gravis, the founder of RB Cafe, to discuss the development of social entrepreneurship in Latvia. LSUA Council members – Inga Muizniece, head of the social enterprise Sonido, Elīna Novada, head of the social enterprise “Fresh”, Miks Celmiņš, head of the social entrepreneurship initiative “Make Room Europe”, and Regita Zeiļa, head of RB Café Liva Voronin and Ieva Krusta, Executive Director of the Children’s Society.

President of Latvia Egils Levits expressed his support for further development of social entrepreneurship, pointing out that Latvia definitely needs such companies: “Social entrepreneurship in a humane society must definitely be developed. From the point of view of politics, people and values, social entrepreneurship is definitely a must! ”

This is an encouraging event that President of Latvia value social entrepreneurship as important part of the societal and economical processes.
